In the two-minute clip, Arinola, the chief in question, is seen kneeling on the roadside while a man, identified as the monarch, Ogunjobi, verbally abuses him. The ruler accuses Arinola of conspiracy, cursing him and his family. Reportedly a retired police officer, the monarch boasts about his influence over law enforcement, threatening to have the chief imprisoned.
The disturbing footage has sparked outrage among citizens and human rights activists, who describe the act as degrading and an abuse of power. Many are calling for immediate government intervention and disciplinary action against the monarch.
In response, Ogun State authorities condemned the act, labeling it "inhumane" and promising a full-scale investigation. Officials assured the public that no one is above the law and that justice would be served.
