The Oyo State Government has officially inaugurated the Coronation Committee for His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade the newly selected Alaafin of Oyo. This marks a historic milestone in Oyo’s rich cultural heritage as preparations begin for a grand coronation ceremony that reflects the prestige and legacy of the Alaafin throne.
The inauguration, held in Ibadan, was chaired by Hon. Ademola Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters. The committee comprises influential figures, including:
